If there’s No Setups, then there’s No Setups; Don’t Force Trades

I realized that I scrolled through the same charts more than once looking for potential trade setups over the weekend. This was a clear message to me that there just wasn’t any.

In my opinion, if you start scrolling through your charts a second and a third time it means that you are starting to look for trades that just aren’t there. This can lead to forcing trades which is very dangerous.

Trades / setups should jump out at you. You should know fairly quickly if you are going to take a trade. This is largely dependent on you knowing your trading strategy inside out of course. How do you get there? In short, by backtesting and sticking to your strategy for starters.

Just because you are a trader doesn’t mean you going to have trades everyday. Be patient, be disciplined and wait for your setups.

Just because I didn’t see anything over the weekend does not necessarily mean that there won’t be any trades setting up during the week. Things change quickly in the markets.

And that’s the reason I decided to write this post instead of putting up a chart this weekend.

Thanks for reading.
